Invoice Review

Review your Sprint voice and private line long-distance invoice as a consolidated invoice or as a detail of activity by accounts you hierarchically define. Depending on the selection, you are presented with information accumulated at the invoice point for which FONVIEW® data was ordered or with information displayed in summary form by service-level account.

Invoice reports can be generated from any point in the account hierarchy.

You may wish to see more detail relating to a specific line item when you are reviewing invoice information. FONVIEW® provides the option of "drilling down" to the next level of detail for any particular line item.

Reporting and Analysis

FONVIEW® offers a wide variety of reports including:

  • Standard call detail reports that are produced for service-level accounts showing individual calls sorted and subtotaled in a variety of ways. For added flexibility, you can filter any call detail report to include only those calls that meet your specific selection criteria; for example, all calls to selected area codes during a specific time period
  • Standard call summary reports that provide subtotals of call activity associated with the hierarchy or account of your choice. Several summary options are available, including call cost, frequently called numbers, frequent callers and workload analysis
  • Standard management analysis reports for analyzing and managing your telecommunications resources. Put your phone bill to work. See which countries are called the most often or create a graph of your usage charges over a 12 month period
  • All reports may be produced at any point in the account hierarchy

For example, you can use FONVIEW® to evaluate the effectiveness of your toll-free numbers by using the standard reports to:

  • Track your toll-free numbers to determine blocked calls, call routing, call completion and workload analysis
  • Monitor and improve productivity by identifying customer calls that were not answered and retrieve their telephone numbers to create call-back lists
  • Track call origination, call duration, total number of calls and purchasing results during specific promotion periods
  • Capture the number, minutes and cost of calls to each of your toll-free numbers and compare their relative usage

Customization

FONVIEW® provides a number of customization features that allow you to tailor the reporting features to address your specific needs. Filters can be defined and applied to call detail reports to include only those calls that meet the criteria you select. Custom hierarchies can be defined as unique groupings of accounts for summary reporting purposes. The descriptions assigned to hierarchies and accounts can be changed for ease of reference when reviewing reports and invoices. Similarly, names or descriptions can be assigned to FONCARDs and accounting codes so that those names display in reports involving them.

Re-Rating Options

FONVIEW® allows you to re-rate usage and non-usage charges. You may also add charges to a report. These functions are accomplished using a variety of user-defined rating and taxing packages.

  • Re-rate calls at a fixed cost per minute
  • Mark calls up or down by a specified percentage or flat rate
  • Apply per call minimums
  • Re-rate non-usage charges at a fixed rate
  • Add non-usage charges

Loading monthly data

Information for tables that require write access, such as hierarchy and account names, must be transferred during the first access for a particular month. Once the files for that month are accessed, the transfer process is not repeated until the next month.

With the exception of certain summary values used for trend analysis reports, only one month of data is accessible in FONVIEW® at any one time. Customized hierarchies and descriptions, user-defined call detail filters and report definitions are retained from one month to the next, as well as all re-rating packages. However, monthly call detail and call summary information is replaced by loading data for a new month.

FONVIEW® users who receive their invoice information on a CD-ROM retain their historical invoice information indefinitely. Simply reload the invoice information from your CD-ROM whenever you want to analyze it. Internet users of FONVIEW® can download either the current month or one previous month of invoice data for analysis at any time.

Several users can analyze various aspects of your invoice data by using multiple user IDs and passwords within a single FONVIEW® license. The Export option within FONVIEW® provides even more flexibility to retain and retrieve reported data from month to month.

System Requirements

  • VGA Monitor (800 x 600 Resolution)
  • Pentium 133 MHz processor or better
  • 32 MB RAM (64 if using FONVIEW® with any other application and 128 MB if running and viewing multiple reports simultaneously)
  • 145 MB of available hard drive space for application installation (data storage is dependent upon size and number of datasets)
  • CD-ROM Drive
  • Modem/Internet access account if receiving data via Internet download
  • Mouse or compatible pointing device
  • Microsoft Windows Operating System (95, 98, NT, 2000, XP)
  • Internet Explorer version 4.7 or newer
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader

Free disk space requirements on the workstation or the file server, increase in proportion to the size of the database. The database size is affected by number of calls, number of accounts and calling patterns. In addition to the normal overhead requirements of the database engine, an average of 3.5 MB of disk space is required for every 10,000 calls. The number of call detail records you anticipate receiving monthly determines the best delivery media for you to choose.

Internet Delivery Option

By signing up for the FONVIEW® Internet option, you can download the system software, your monthly invoice information and the software user guide through the members only button.

If you choose to receive your invoice information via the Internet, data encryption in the members only section will ensure the integrity of your billing data.

Your modem speed determines the length of time spent downloading your monthly data through the Internet. Sprint recommends a minimum modem speed of 28.8 KBPS. When using the Internet, you should also consider whether you need to download your data during your normal working hours, or whether you want your data to download overnight ready for use the following morning.
